Fear is Liar

Y’all….this is unreal.

I’m currently sitting in my husband and I’s apartment as I type this.

(Looks down at my left hand)

And yup, there’s a ring still on my finger.

Let’s flashback to SIX MONTHS AGO.

Six months ago I decided to not let fear get in the way of God’s plan for me and ended a relationship that was killing my faith and happiness.

In the immense about of pain and heartbreak, I developed a personal relationship with the Lord and fell in love with Him.

I learned how to listen to Him (we’ll talk more about that in another post) and I learned how to seek Him in all things.

Six months ago I was feeling defeated and thought life will move on I guess while soaking my pillowcase with snot and tears.

Boy oh boy. God is truly amazing and it astounds me when I see where I am right this second.

I didn’t let fear get in the way of the amazing things that God had in store for me. Of course I had to get out of my comfort box to do it, but sometimes that’s how amazing things happen.

Did you think that great things would just come to you while sitting comfortably on a couch? I don’t think so. No matter how amazing that would be especially while eating a bag of buttery popcorn.

Back on track here Hailey.

Once I overcame the fears I had, I was blessed with a husband, a teaching job, an apartment, mission trip to Guatemala, and now I might even have the opportunity to be on the worship team at my church.

Singing is something I have always dreamt of doing but I always let fear get in the way. I always told myself I wasn’t good enough. However, I told myself that if this is what God desires for me and is apart of His plan, then I should try. Therefore, after a good solid week of contemplating sending the audition tapes, I finally hit send.

And guess what?! They emailed me back wanting me to come in tonight for rehearsal to see how I do with the band.

It just goes to show that fear is a liar and will do anything to keep you from blossoming if you let it.

What’s one thing that you have always wanted to do but haven’t done it? Is it because you’re short on money? Is it because you’re afraid of what people will think? Is it because you don’t have the resources? All of those variables can change and that’s up to you and the Lord.

Keep in communication with the Lord. Pray and ask for him to clear your mind and calm your heart. Pray and ask for guidance and clarification. He is always reaching out to you.

Here’s a short passage from my devotional today,

“I speak to you continually. My nature is to communicate, though not always in words. I fling glorious sunsets across the sky, day after day after day. I speak in the faces and voices of loved ones. I caress you with a gentle breeze that refreshes and delights you. I speak softly in the depths of your spirit, where I have taken up residence. You can find Me in each moment when you have eyes that see and ears that hear. Ask My Spirit to sharpen your spiritual eyesight and hearing. I rejoice each time you discover My Presence. Practice looking and listening for Me during quiet intervals. Gradually you will find Me in more and more of your moments. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me above all else.
